1.Moisture absorbency. The hygroscopicity of erythritol is very small in sweeteners such as glycol and sucrose.With a temperature of 20℃ and a relative humidity of 90%, the hygroscopic weight gain after 5 days, sorbitol is about 40%, maltitol is about 17%, sucrose is about 10%,and the erythridol is below 2%.
2. Low in calories. The sweet taste of erythritol is equivalent to 70% of sucrose, and the sweet taste is pure, refreshing and has no after bitter taste, so it can be used as a sweetener, but the calories produced by erythritol is very low, about 0.2KCal/g, which is often used as a natural zero-calorie sweetener in healthy food.
3.A sense of coolness. Erythritol absorbs more calories (-43KCal/g) in the process of dissolving in water, it has a unique refreshing taste. For example, erythritol were added to chewing gum to achieve a cool taste (both sweet and cool, and the calories are very low).
